A strict self-imposed quarantine is by far the best way to avoid the flu. The problem is you will be confined for weeks and maybe months inside your home. Of course you will gladly do this to stop the flu and H5N1 virus. It will not be a walk in the park. Your life will not be normal. People will be less comfortable and people will more easily get on each others nerve. Some people might drink or do drugs more. Others may have shorter tempers than normal.

We can deal with these problems by staying positive and on top of things. Let’s talk about great ways to get you through the nights and days. Again, the flu and H5N1 pandemic will challenge you and your group in many ways. You must prepare daily.

It all starts when you wake up. Would you rather start the day in a haze not knowing what you are going to do? Or wake up with a plan eyes and hair on fire? A caged life at home will bore you. But not if you have a plan.

How do you beat boredom and raise your group’s chance to live? You must make sure that everyone has a target. They must want to achieve something. You must look to the future knowing what you do today will help you later. You must have a goal to aim for. Live in today knowing what you want to live for.

What you do not want is a group of people who do not have anything to do. They may feel sorry for themselves. These people may drag around the house causing problems for you.

First, someone is going to have to take the lead. This person should have a great attitude and is smart. Just because a person is strong doesn’t mean that person should run your group. Maybe you should vote on the leader. Your group should choose the best one for the job.

The leader has to set the pace and make sure that everyone is going in the same direction. Your group must act as one to be the best. The group leader will need to make hard decisions. Also, the leader will need to be a great cheer leader.

That person must come back with a positive answer when asked, HOW ARE YOU DOING. They should say things like fine, great, good, ok, excellent, with a smile on their face. Why? In normal times most people make their own decisions, but now they will depend on you more. If they think you do not know, they will not know. If they think you are scared, they will be scared. If they think that you want to quit, they might want to quit.

If the person who asked the question is asked and how are you? You should say something like fine with a smile on your face. Also, without saying it, YOU CAN DEPEND ON ME in your mind. The leader will feel it. You may not be the leader but they will depend on you greatly to help them keep the group together mentally.

Let’s say your whole life when people ask you that question you say I’m hanging in there. THAT’S-NOT-GOOD-ENOUGH! The other people in your group will be watching you closely. Have you ever thought how you would act when times get tough? We all hope that we will be cool and calm under fire. Your chance to find out will come every day when asked that question.

Everything is relative. People make it through tough times like wars and torture. I bet there are people going through much worse than what you have to face. Know you can handle anything that comes your way. You have got to know that things will be all right. You should never give up hope. Look for the good in things that happen in your life. It all depends on your frame of mind.

Everyone must do their part to help the group. We all at times must lead. When things get tough, some people may need help. Can you carry them across the finish line? When the times is right, are you mentally strong enough to do it. Most people are not aware of their power. All you need to do is reach your enter strength to do it.

So, I am going to show you how to use parts of the guide. We should do some things every day.

1. Fire people: One of the most important jobs. Every night one needs to check the house for fire and Carbon Monoxide safety. Do not let this person get lazy. He or she must check for danger. If your house burns down, what will you do. You could catch the flu while moving. This is why all must have good safety habits in case they are forced into the streets.

This person should be fresh and ready to go. They should be the last one to go to bed at night. I suggest they use a check list made by the leader to do their rounds.

1. This job will last for 24 hours. The person should sleep less than all others.

2. Make sure that someone is always watching food cook.

3. No one is smoking in bed.

4. Fire alarms have working batteries

5. Test smoke detectors (test buttons)

6. There should be a fire escape practice done every two weeks without notice.

7. There are no fire safety problems like extension cords under the carpets.

8. If there are signs of carbon monoxide poisoning, this person should ask the correct questions.

9. This person should study chapter 10 completely.

10. If you have an isolation room, which I highly suggest, this person should check it.

2. Exercise: We all should be in good shape. Do not over do it so at most an hour a day. We must stay active to keep our immune system strong. Also, it helps how we feel. We need to work our heart like jumping rope, running in place, anything that gets our heart pumping. Also, some muscle work like push ups, sit-ups and deep knee bends. Do not forget to stretch. If you have a treadmill or weights, great I’m sure you know what to do.

3. Cleaning the house: All should clean their living space. Living in a pig pen is bad for your mind. All should help during a general cleanup. Give each person a room to clean. Rooms should rotate every day by name. The group leader should check to see things are done right.

4. Cleaning clothes: If someone is working daily, wash their clothes daily. The houses should be viruses free. All others need not wash their clothes daily.

5. Listen to news reports and go to http://birdflusecrets.com for updates: We do not want to miss valuable information: pick someone to do this daily.

6. Brain Storm: The group leader should have group meetings every day. Go over how to improve things. Also, talk about the news.

7. Check how much food and water you have: the group leader only should check every night how much is used. They want to make sure no one is using more than their share. It should last as long as the plan calls for. This is a must because you do not want to find that you’re a week short. It could cause the group their lives.

8. Meditation allows us to free our thoughts. It makes the world clear because we focus more. We are more creative, perform better and it helps us relax. It gets easier the more we do it.

I faced a huge test at one of the largest karate tournaments in the world. It was at the Internationals, In Long Beach California. There I sit on the floor with 200 black belts in my weight class. We had two rings and I was waiting for my next match. I meditated between each match. I blocked out the crowd and other fighters. But most of all I blocked out my own demons. My mind was on the moment relaxed.

I believe mental discipline will help you. It is very simple too. Simply sit in a comfortable place and close your eyes. Make sure not to fall asleep. Repeat a word like ING or OHM to yourself over and over. Do this at a slow pace. Breathe slowly and do not think about anything. Other thoughts will try and get into your mind but calmly ignore them. Keep with the word over and over. Your mind will start to drift in time without a care in the world.

Pick one of the words and make it the only one that you use. Do it for about 15 minutes. Each time you do this it will get easier.

9. Self improvement studies: You’ve always wanted to do or learn something right! But you just don’t have the time. Now you have the time to do it. Do not come up with excuses, just do it. We can go online to take courses for example. This is big don’t waste your time you can plan for the future.

10. Entertainment: Music and movies can take you to the highest peak or drop you to the lowest of valleys. Only watch or listen to the most motivational and inspiring kinds. Some music can be bad for your morale. I am not saying to restrict some songs, just play the good stuff the most.

11. Safety techniques: All should take this test even if you plan to stay in the house all the time. What if your home burns down or someone steals all of your supplies. You must be ready for all that could happen. The key to this is to act as if it is really happening. You need to do what your partner asked you to do. You are doing this to create your new habits. Watch all that you tell the other person to do. If they do, anything wrong corrects them. They must do all the questions for 21 straight days in a row. After that, they should create a habit.

However, use it or lose it. After the 21 days in a row, you must do all of the question’s two or three times a week so that you do not forget.

All should get a partner to do the questions until you are perfect. If you cannot do it in practice, you will not be able to do it under stress. Keep doing it to make it easy.

12. Unless something special comes up, go to bed each night at the same time. Also, get up at the same time early each morning. Why, because you want all to be sharp, alert and have a purpose for the day’s work. You do not want a bunch of zombies. Making it through the h5n1 flu will not be a walk in the park. It will test you so you have to be ready. What if, you have to fight off intruders.

13. Open time

14. Know how to use security equipment like, pepper spray and stun guns.

The point is a lot of people will not have six to eight weeks of water/food. What will you do? Someone will have to go out to get it. Let one person goes out to get supplies. You will have less chance of the group catching the virus. If that person is 45 to 60 years old, they may be more able to survive than a younger person. Read chapter 7 in the guide to learn why.

This person should stay alone in a room, see chapter 11 in the guide.

Look for jobs that people will need. See chapter 12 in the guide.

Once you catch the virus, you probably will not catch it again. This will give you a huge advantage. However, the virus will still contaminate items and I would still keep the one in the public by themselves in their room.

You want all in your home to be on the same page. Do not let people do what they want. They must go to bed and get up by a plan. You will need everyone to work as one to win the flu and h5n1 challenge.
